The Physics of Passion and Willpower
-Description and Course Outline-
What are the passions, really, and how can willpower interact with them? The term "passion," like most words in the english language, can mean different things depending on the context. For the purposes of this course we will be using the term passion to mean any interior movement we experience within our bodies, often but not always related to our thoughts, that draws us toward something.
Emotions, feelings, affections, appetites, moods, etc, while being the more common terms for this psychological phenomena, each comes with it's own secondary implications that also vary according to the source of information.
Due to all of these subtle differences that have little relevance to our discussion, the system we will be presenting throughout this course treats them all as essentially the same, because, from the psycho-somatic perspective we care about, they are.Â
All of these interior movements, have their basis in the energetic systems of the body that draw our attention to them and draw or drive us toward their respective ends (often independent of our conscious thoughts, intentions, or what is genuinely good for us).Â
Willpower usually indicates a person’s ability to do what they choose to do, irrespective of their other desires. According to this model, willpower is the capability to act outside of these interior movements (passions) to accomplish whatever objectives they deem as necessary or good.Â
But what if we were able to alter these interior movements at their core level so that instead of acting as an obstacle that has to be overcome, they are actually converted into a force that supports our movement toward these objectives?Â
This is what our Interior Force Management system will supply you the tools to do. When properly learned and practiced, it gives you the ability to reorient the energies of your body in such a way that they don’t interfere with, but can even propel you towards the goals that you set for yourself!
